I record all Darksoft material using real instruments in my home studio in Maine. Every part is written, performed, and multitracked by hand, one instrument at a time.
Plus a pile of found sounds: a theremin, sandpaper, a sword struck with a hammer, and even my basement boiler shutting off.
Albums take shape slowly. Everydayness was recorded over about a year, from November 2024 to December 2025, then mixed and mastered by Brian Fisher.
Many of the music videos are made at home too, shot on a VHS camcorder and an old Nikon Coolpix with practical effects like LED lightboxes, backlit cutouts, and close-up reflections. Watch them on YouTube.
Over the years, I've also collaborated with other artists on recording, production, and performance across a range of independent releases.
